Land trusts are non-profit organizations directly involved in the permanent protection of land and its resources for the public benefit. Wallowa Land Trust is part of a much larger community of land conservation organizations in the United States.  There are more than 1,800 land trusts across the country, having together permanently protected some 50 million acres of land.

Wallowa Land Trust is one of 20 land trusts operating in the state of Oregon, collectively having conserved more than 307,000 acres of wetlands, farms, forests, grasslands and more. We are a member of the national Land Trust Alliance, as well as the Coalition of Oregon Land Trusts.
