About Us
The Wallowa Land Trust is a local nonprofit, tax-exempt organization founded and governed by Wallowa County landowners and residents. We provide voluntary financial optionsfor private landowners to realize the monetary value of their property while maintaining traditional uses such as farming & ranching, fish & wildlife habitat, forestry, open space and other natural resources.
The Trust works to secure important lands threatened by development. Supported by contributions from individuals, families and businesses, we purchase land (title) or Conservation Easements (development rights) from willing sellers. In other cases, we receive donations of property or easement from landowners who may then be eligible for significant federal tax deductions.
