The Wallowa Land Trust is funded almost exclusively by contributions of all sizes from private individuals, families and small businesses. Because the Trust is a tax-exempt organization, all donations are tax-deductible.
Most of the Trust's budget depends on membership dues and donations from local citizens, as well as numerous Oregonians and others around the nation who care about the Wallowa Country. Many people believe in agriculture and open space values, and find supporting the Trust an effective way to help. Additionally, people throughout the world know the tragic story of Chief Joseph and the Nez Perce people who were driven from their homeland, and want to help protect this landscape so highly valued by Indian people by supporting the Trust.
Besides regular members, the Wallowa Land Trust relies heavily on the generosity of its WallowaLands Society donors, who give $250 or more annually. These larger gifts enable the Trust to be more ambitious and effective in its work, and are deeply appreciated.

Ways to Give
A simple way to become a member and support the land trust’s work is a tax deductible monetary donation.
To save trees and time and for a shorter stack of mail, we encourage you to join our monthly giving program, the All Seasons Club, to spread your gift throughout the year.
The Land Trust is also a qualified Oregon Cultural Trust non-profit. Thus, if you make a gift to the Land Trust and a matching gift to the Oregon Cultural Trust, you can claim your entire contribution to the Oregon Cultural Trust as a tax credit, reducing your Oregon tax bill. Including the Wallowa Land Trust in your will or living trust is a great way to make a lasting contribution to conservation of the Wallowa Country. If you've left the Trust in your will or living trust, please let us know so that we can thank you for your generosity during your lifetime. The Trust can also receive donation of bonds, stocks, mutual funds and charitable remainder trusts.

Donating a Conservation Easement is a lasting contribution to the community, future generations, and to the health and welfare of our valley along with the wildlife and habitat of the region. In addition to these motivations for donating a Conservation Easement, donors may realize income and estate tax benefits.

Donated professional services are invaluable, although not usually tax-deductible. Legal help, assistance with estate planning and appraisals, natural resources efforts, accounting, and public relations work are among many services which can help make a local land trust effective.
The land trust often accepts in-kind gifts, whose value is tax-deductible, including:
